Last chance for 2017 pastured chicken!
Our last butcher day for 2017 here at Vision Farms, was this past Saturday. We still have some chicken available, so if you want to stock up for the winter, now is the time! We won't have fresh chicken available again until June of 2018. If you would like a sample chicken to try before you buy, please contact us by phone or email and we will get one to you. Buying meat is a big investment, and we want you to be confident in what you are buying. These chickens have been raised on non-GMO feeds, and have been on fresh, daily pasture since they were 3 weeks old. The fresh grass does wonders for the flavor and the level of nutrition these chickens will provide. Get your order in today!
Which came first? The chicken or the eggs?
Got your share of milk?
Last but not least we have lots of fresh, grass-fed, raw Jersey milk available. We just had another cow freshen last week, and she is looking to be a better producer than expected so we will have milk a plenty. All of our milk cows are tested for TB and Brucellosis, plus we do a weekly test here on the farm, to check for any mastitis issues with the cow. We have just recently joined the Colorado Raw Milk Association, and in conjunction with them, will be doing monthly testing on the milk for Coliform, Salmonella and E Coli. Colorado is a herd share state, so in order to obtain the milk you have to buy a share in our herd which is a one time fee of $50, and $25 for any subsequent shares, and then you pay a weekly "boarding fee" of $7.00/week per share. That entitles you to one gallon of milk, per share, per week. It's kind of a crazy way to get a gallon of delicious, fresh milk, but boy is it worth it! You can pick up your milk here on the farm or at a drop point in Grand Junction. Give us a call and get on the schedule!
